New Jabra Integration Cord Greatly Expands Avaya Customer Options

Jabra GN1216 connecting cable ensures compatibility of Jabra corded headsets with Avaya IP telephony solutions

COPENHAGEN – Jabra, a leading international manufacturer of innovative audio end-point solutions, announced the availability of a new integration cord that makes corded headsets in its award-winning portfolio compatible with IP telephony solutions from Avaya, a global leader in enterprise communications systems, software and services.

The new Jabra GN1216 integration cord dramatically expands the options available to Avaya customers and means they can now select from a multitude of microphones, wearing styles, and single or dual earpiece options, each designed for all-day comfort. The cord has gone through Avaya’s rigorous compliance testing to ensure its compatibility with Avaya’s popular 9600 and 1600 series telephones. Testing was performed on a full range of Jabra’s most popular professional corded headsets, including the Jabra GN1900, Jabra GN2000, Jabra GN2100 and the revolutionary Jabra BIZ™2400 series.

“This is a significant opportunity for customers of both Jabra and Avaya,” said Niels Joergensen, Senior Vice President, CC&O division, Jabra. “Jabra corded solutions have proven their worth with contact centers and offices around the globe. We now have an integrated solution that has been compliance-tested by Avaya, the global leader in contact center telephony solutions. The availability of the Jabra GN1216 now provides an Avaya compliance-tested solution with a full range of Jabra corded headsets.”

The new integration cord features eight microphone volume settings, ensuring proper audio levels regardless of which Jabra headset is selected. The customer simply connects the cord to the headset, and then sets the microphone according to headset model and personal preference.

Jabra is a member of the Avaya DevConnect program, an initiative to develop, market, and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.  As a Gold member of the program Jabra is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab. There, a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether or not it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure, speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

“Jabra’s broad range of corded headset solutions ensures that customers in contact centers and offices around the world can find the right solution for their individual work environments and budgets,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, Developer Relations, Avaya. “DevConnect’s comprehensive compliance testing verifies that the solution has been integrated to work properly with the specified Avaya products. The end result is an application that is easily and rapidly deployed into the existing network.”
