CA ARCserve High Availability Selected as Top Product in High Availability/Disaster Recovery Category

ISLANDIA, N.Y. – CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) today announced that CA ARCserve® High Availability was named as a gold medal winner of the “2010 Editors’ Best Awards” in the high availability/disaster recovery category by Penton Media’s Windows IT Pro® magazine.

In making the selection, magazine editors called CA ARCserve High Availability “top-tier when it comes to minimizing the kinds of system downtime and data loss that can bring your business to a halt.”

David Jao, director of corporate IT at Hazen and Sawyer, P.C., who has used CA ARCserve High Availability for more than a year in a 700-user environment, cited the product’s ease of deployment and reliability.

“It’s simpler to deploy and use than Exchange Server 2010 database availability groups (DAGs),” said Jao. “We found it ideal for an under-1,000-mailbox SMB that needed only one mail server with a full redundant server at a remote location for disaster recovery. The switchover is almost seamless to our users, as tested on our preproduction Exchange 2010 server. The only required client interaction was an Outlook client restart. The native Exchange DAG solution would have required four servers and WAN-routing modifications to achieve the same redundancy.”
