International specialists expect that contact centers at home agent programmes increase in 2011, despite the great security risk of working at-home employees. DNA Solutions recommends call center on demand solutions and offers its customers innovative tehnological packages, which reduce risks of working at-home or remote agents.

Bucharest, 31th March 2011 – Contact center at-home agent programmes are rapidly growing today due to their multiple benefits of reducing operational costs, increasing performance and improving the customer experience. However, using at-home or remote workers carries with it a much greater security risk.
International specialists expect that, by the end of 2011, contact center at home or remote practices will considerably increase.
For more than 10 years, DNA Solutions implements complex contact centers projects, recommending security solutions from international leaders and providers.

The best practices for securing at-home agents
1. Be sure that at-home agents or supervisors have on their PCs advanced firewall, anti-virus protection, security patches to work remote.
2. Remote workers should be forbidden form copying, moving and storing cardholder data onto hard drives or moveable electronic media when accesing cardholder data.
3. Ensuring remote agents and supervisors use a two-factor authentification process.
4. Use strong network encryption protocols such as Secure Socket Layer and Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) or Internet Protocol Security (IPSEC) to provide secure transmission of the VoIP voice stream and data over the customers’ network.
5. Ensure each at home agent and supervisor is using a VPN connection into the corporate network with strong encryption protocols such as SSL/TLS.
6. Encrypt wireless networks of remote agents and supervisors by using strong cryptography. Since June 30th, 2010, the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) protocol had no longer permission for any new wireless implementations. Specialists recommend the use of WPA2 protocol.
7. If not using an enterprise VoIP-based telephone solution, offer agents analogue telephone lines to talk with customers. At-home agents should not use consumer VoIP telephone system such as Vonage because their communication may not be encrypted.
8. Ensure that payment card information is never sent over an unencrypted medium scuh as chat, SMS/text or email or other non-encrypted communication channels.
9. Ensure that at-home agent and supervisor PCs have the latest approved operational softs such as firewall and security patches.
10. Ensure that remote workers use exclusively company-supplied systems.
11. Monitor at-home agents more often than in-house agents.
12. Annually review all security policies and procedures with all agents and especially remote agents so they acknowledge the security requirements as part of their daily sign-in process.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. —In 1992, Gateway Health Plan® was established as an alternative to Pennsylvania’s Department of Public Welfare’s Medical Assistance Program. Gateway is now known as one of the best Medicaid programs in the United States and has grown to over $1.2 billion in annual revenue and 275,000 members within the state of Pennsylvania. This sharp business growth has come with an increasing emphasis on IT and a steep rise in data storage demands. To help increase IT flexibility and efficiency, protect its IT investment, and continually provide improved services for members, Gateway turned to NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP).

News Facts
* Gateway’s holistic, proactive approach to healthcare, called Prospective Care Management (PCM®), identifies the behavioral, environmental, economic, medical, social, and spiritual issues a member faces, and designs a health plan tailored to an individual’s needs. This both uses and creates vast amounts of data.
* Gateway estimates it has saved millions of dollars in hardware, space, power, and staffing while boosting productivity with NetApp efficient IT and server virtualization technologies.
* Gateway worked with NetApp Professional Services to replace its existing EMC systems, virtualize 95% of its servers, and keep data accessible even in the event of a major disaster.
* Gateway has been able to slash data recovery time objectives from 72 hours to less than 4 hours. Recovery point objectives have also dropped.
* Gateway has been able to quickly establish test and development environments that facilitate further PCM investments.

Solution Detail
* The NetApp® Unified Storage Architecture enabled Gateway to choose lower-cost iSCSI over Fibre Channel whenever it felt it was appropriate, saving an estimated $500,000 a year.

Supporting Quotes
* David B. Guilinger, director of Information Services, Gateway Health Plan
“Our NetApp storage environment has become not only a key piece of our infrastructure, but also the foundation of how we both rapidly and efficiently provide data-driven PCM solutions to our clients.”
* Chris Cummings, vice president of Product and Solution Marketing, NetApp
“Our flexible IT solutions help customers keep their businesses nimble and respond to changing requirements. Gateway’s example is a reminder that making your IT infrastructure fast and efficient is not just about business benefits, but sometimes about helping companies bring solutions to market that make a measurable difference in people’s lives.”

As customers move toward the next generation IT infrastructure, NetApp’s innovation leadership is enabling compelling business outcomes for our customers and propelling our rapid growth,” said Tom Georgens, president and CEO. “Our recent product launch further enhanced our competitive position and significantly surpassed our expectations. We have experienced the fastest uptake for a new product in the history of the company and as a result, demand has exceeded the available supply of our new FAS3200 systems. We pride ourselves on our ability to execute this business with precision, even in the face of exceptionally rapid growth. We are committed to catching up to the demand as quickly as possible.”

Outlook
* NetApp estimates revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2011 to be approximately $1.380 billion, plus or minus 2%, which equates to approximately 7% to 11% sequential revenue growth and approximately 15% to 20% year over year revenue growth.
Share count does not include the company’s outstanding note hedges that are expected to offset 80% of the dilution from the convertible notes at maturity or conversion, which would equate to an offset of approximately 14 million shares if the conversion or maturity occurred in the third quarter.

Business Highlights
In the third quarter of fiscal year 2011, NetApp announced its biggest product launch in the company’s history, aimed at enabling customers to address today’s evolving business requirements by moving to a flexible and efficient shared IT infrastructure. Additionally, NetApp and its executives received several noteworthy industry honors and the company once again was named one of the best places to work in the country. Key business highlights include the following:

NetApp Paves the Way for Customers to Make the Transition to a Shared IT Infrastructure and Capitalize on New Growth Opportunities
Highlighting their ongoing collaboration, NetApp, Cisco, and VMware unveiled FlexPod™ for VMware, a unified, pretested, and validated shared infrastructure that can scale easily, be optimized for a variety of mixed application workloads, or be configured for virtual desktop or server infrastructure, secure multi-tenancy, or cloud environments. The three companies are working closely with leading channel partners to help customers take advantage of FlexPod for VMware to transform to a more efficient and flexible data center infrastructure.
* NetApp acquired Akorri Networks, Inc., a privately held company headquartered in Littleton, Massachusetts.
Milestones and Awards
* NetApp named one of the Best Places to Work.

HOPKINTON, Mass and ARMONK, N.Y.

EMC Corporation and IBM Corporation announced the extension of a technology licensing agreement that enables customers to install and utilize EMC and IBM products in heterogeneous IBM zEnterprise mainframe server environments.

The multi-year agreement facilitates interoperability of EMC(R) Symmetrix(R) DMX and VMAX™ storage systems with IBM Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy and Extended Remote Copy (XRC) functions. The licensing agreement also covers additional IBM interfaces, including FlashCopy, Multiple Allegiance, Parallel Access Volumes (PAV), Dynamic PAV, and HyperPAV, which are supported on EMC Symmetrix systems.

As part of the agreement, IBM will provide EMC with technical specifications that will continue to enable compatibility between EMC Symmetrix DMX and VMAX storage systems and the IBM zEnterprise System running the current and future versions of the IBM z operating systems. Financial terms are not being disclosed.

Mark Anzani, IBM Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, System z said, “This extension agreement underscores IBM’s commitment to industry interoperability, by sharing information about IBM innovations that bring value to clients who choose to deploy technologies from multiple sources. By enabling choices in storage infrastructure from vendors such as IBM and EMC, clients can confidently grow applications and data onto the system z platform.”

Peter Conway, EMC Vice President, Symmetrix and Virtualization Product Group, added, “This extension of our relationship with IBM will assure the continuation of access to the benefits of EMC’s information infrastructure solutions by IBM zEnterprise customers. Through efforts such as this, EMC is furthering its commitment to providing zEnterprise customers with industry leading storage systems, software and services.”

This is the latest in a series of licensing agreements and extensions between IBM and EMC covering various technologies from both companies. In October 2003, EMC and IBM first announced a licensing agreement that provided EMC with access to a range of mainframe storage interfaces and functionality for other IBM systems lines and also a mutual exchange of open-standards based interfaces for improved manageability and interoperability. This agreement was extended in June of 2007. In June 2005, the two companies extended a cooperative support agreement which remains in place today. It facilitates mutual response to joint customer issues across various IBM Systems lines.

EMC Corporation’s (NYSE: EMC) recently introduced EMC® VNX™ series unified storage system is the new industry performance leader based on new independent benchmark testing. According to the latest Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC) SPECsfs2008_nfs.v3 testing data—measuring networked file performance and overall response times—the EMC VNX series storage system shattered previous performance records, further demonstrating EMC midrange storage leadership.

Benchmark Highlights

* The test highlights that the EMC® VNX Series is 49% faster than the previous leader, an HP system (BL860c i2 4-node HA-NFS Cluster)1, 23% faster than an IBM system (IBM Scale Out Network Attached Storage 16-node cluster, Version 1.2)2, and 160% faster than the NetApp FAS 6240 Series system 3. The EMC VNX Series performed at 497,623 SPECsfs2008_nfs.v3 operations per second. Faster throughput enables a storage system to support more virtual servers and intense workloads, a key requirement in a cloud infrastructure and enterprise deployments.
* The EMC VNX Series also had the lowest overall response time (ORT) of systems tested, taking the top spot with a response time of .96 milliseconds. Faster response times enable end-users to access information quicker and more efficiently.
* The new performance records were achieved as a result of the EMC VNX Series’ modular unified storage architecture optimized to exploit the performance benefits of SSDs (Solid State Disks). EMC is the industry leader in the use of SSDs, which store and transfer data at much faster speeds than traditional disk drives.
* The EMC VNX Series also demonstrated unprecedented levels of storage efficiency during the testing. Traditional storage systems typically utilize 60% of raw capacity while the EMC VNX Series was able to utilize a remarkable 98% of its raw capacity, which in a real-world environment translates into significant cost savings.

The recently introduced EMC® VNX™ family—designed for virtual data centers—converges the award-winning EMC CLARiiON® storage area network (SAN) and EMC Celerra® network attached storage (NAS) systems into a single, unified family of solutions. The VNX series delivers leadership simplicity, efficiency, and performance for demanding virtual application and enterprise environments.

With features such as the EMC FAST (Fully Automated Storage Tiering) Suite, including FAST VP (Virtual Pools) and FAST Cache, the VNX Series provides real-world customer environments with superior performance, capacity optimization, and comprehensive storage management functionality, while exploiting the benefits of Solid State Drives (SSD).

“Midtier storage customers are at a crossroads, with heterogeneous IT infrastructures that include both SAN and NAS storage. So deciding how to best leverage and optimize information assets becomes tricky,” said Charles King, principal analyst at Pund-IT, Inc. “EMC’s VNX simply, seamlessly and cost-effectively supports both SAN and NAS. It’s optimized for virtualized server environments and armed with FAST technologies that balance and optimize data automatically and efficiently. Plus, VNX’s highly scalable, modular components—complete with Intel Xeon multi-core processors—make it a powerful and flexible solution. Overall, the SPEC results for EMC’s VNX illustrate how the company’s dedication to innovation helps mid-tier customers solve common storage problems.”

“VNX brings together all of the leading functionality, benefits and the latest in processor and disk technologies into one comprehensive storage system,” said, Rich Napolitano, President, Unified Storage Division at EMC. “EMC’s strategy of helping customers accelerate their journey to the cloud includes automated management to properly tier data in virtualized environments. These benchmark results illustrate how our unique and efficient use of SSDs can help customers better manage and run mixed virtualized application and enterprise workloads.”

SEATTLE, WA

EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, announced that the Arizona State University School of Earth and Space Exploration (SESE) has deployed EMC Isilon® scale-out NAS to power the processing and analysis of tens of thousands of lunar images from NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), with the aim of identifying ideal landing sites and areas of permanent shadow and illumination on the Moon’s surface. Using Isilon’s NL-Series, powered by the OneFS® operating system, SESE has consolidated its entire image processing, analysis and archiving workflow onto a single file system, simplifying big data management to reduce operating costs and increase research productivity. Additionally, using Isilon’s SyncIQ® asynchronous replication application, SESE can replicate its massive collection of lunar imagery to a second Isilon NL cluster to ensure maximum data reliability and availability.

“We’re only in the second year of the LRO project and already the storage requirements are unlike anything we’ve seen. With this effort expected to last until at least 2014, there’s just no way our previous NAS system could have handled the workload,” said Ernest Bowman-Cisneros, LROC Science Operations Center Manager, SESE. “By switching to Isilon, we’ve created a single, easily scalable and manageable share for all our lunar imagery. Now we’re not only staying ahead of our deadlines, but doing so with significantly less storage management or risk of data loss.”

Launched in Spring 2009 and equipped with seven instruments including the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC), the LRO is currently orbiting the Moon, beaming images back to Goddard Space Flight Center, which manages the LRO spacecraft. Goddard then distributes the images to LROC Science Operations Center (SOC) at SESE, for processing and analysis. Once the SOC processes the images, it archives copies to NASA, and makes them publicly available through the Planetary Data System archive, as well as its own website.

Prior to deploying Isilon, SESE’s traditional NAS system couldn’t scale in-line with its data growth requirements, segregating data into disparate silos and increasing the risk of data loss, while complicating management. Working with Isilon channel partner Transource, the LROC SOC deployed more than 600 terabytes of Isilon’s NL-Series to create two separate clusters; one for primary processing and analysis, and one for backup and archiving. With Isilon, LROC’s entire imaging workflow is consolidated on a single, shared pool of storage, simplifying data management to improve data reliability and image processing performance. Additionally, Isilon’s unique scale-out architecture enables LROC to add or remove nodes in minutes without any downtime or interruption, eliminating the need for disruptive system upgrades and ensuring image processing and analysis continues unabated.

“LROC and NASA are not only advancing our understanding of the Moon at a faster pace than ever before, but with the Planetary Data System, they’re giving us a front row seat to each new discovery,” said Sam Grocott, vice president of marketing, Isilon. “This is a great example of big data at work in our lives, as these massive lunar image repositories are providing insights into our solar system that were impossible just a decade ago. By using Isilon to simplify data management and improve reliability for its lunar imaging workflow, LROC is demonstrating that for big data, Isilon is the ideal solution.”
